hey! i’ve had an idea for a gifset for a while now but didn’t know who’d take it, but seeing as you’re a fan of Taylor and elsanna, i thought you might like it too. It’s okay if you decline making it, just wanted to share: a gifset of elsanna story to the lyrics of “Daylight”. It just reminds me so much of elsanna bc she goes from “my love was as cruel as the cities I"ve lived in” (they never left the castle but Elsa’s love was cruel in the beginning shutting Anna out)  nd then then “I wounded the good and I trusted the wicked” could be Anna’s side of the story, when she didn’t know exposing Elsa’s secret would make her flee and then she trusted Hans. Then the chorus would be the both of them maybe? “I don’t wanna look at anything else now that I saw you” Anna looking at Elsa at the ice castle staircase, “I’ve been sleepin’ so long in a twenty-year dark night, and now i see daylight” Elsa’s isolation and realization that she can now have Anna.

OMG your mind! Daylight is one of my fav songs and when Tay sings “you gotta step into the daylight and let it go“ I DEF think about Elsa. I’ll try to make a gifset with your idea bc I loved it! (or even write a fic) (I just go back to school and I’m so busy eh).

I recorded straight up from the cinema lmao (a worked even told me to stop doing it or they’d call security).

I think there’s some videos on youtube, they aren’t HD quality but aren’t that bad neither. But if I find a good quality video I’ll post it here :)

and my answer is yes and no lmao (this is gonna get long and im on mobile so idk how put an “under the cut” thing)

first of all, i absolutely love stories with huge amounts of angst between the characters, and their whole life is full of it. i tend to not ship siblings characters in pretty much 99.8% percent of cases. why elsa and anna, tho, you might ask.

i’ve read literature that shows sibling incest that occurs after a huge traumatic event in the characters lives (if you wanna check them: flowers in the attic, forbidden and the cement garden) in those cases the sibling relation was completely broken and damaged, and personally i see elsa and anna’s dynamic as sisters as a broken one too.

they were separated for 13 years without any kind of contact, growing up as completely strangers, then they met again and it became a fully dependent relationship in order to get back the years their were separated. they both lost their parents, only having each other and probably going way too far on that fact. that makes them act less and less than siblings but more like two adults that surely doesn’t want to separate again, having very blurry lines between normal sister interaction and ‘oh man this is surely not sister interaction’ (mostly in the second movie, in their scenes together a man sitting behind me asked if they were sisters and why if they were they are acting romantically).

i ship them as sisters that, product of their childhood damage, ended acting romantically because since they didn’t have any familiar love to imitate the next close thing was romantic love. i ship them as sisters that tries to understand how to act normal after more than a decade of being separated (there’s a study that says that if you take two kids that are blood related and separate them for all their childhood, when they meet again as adults their brain can’t process their are related and act well… not like siblings should act in order to give each other affection).

i have read fics in which they aren’t related and enjoy them. for me is not “oh they are sisters i’ll ship them” but the dynamic they have being sisters or not. canonically anna and elsa will do anything for each other (even if that means die) and that’s what make them special.

note: i’ll never ship/read any fic/accept headcanons that involves abuse or manipulation, that’s what mostly any other incest ship does, and i’m against that.

who is saying the ship is dying? maybe is not that big as in 2014 (full of fan arts and fics) but there’s still people posting content, and knowing that elsa and anna are mean to each other no matter what. so, i think the ship is still alive and full of incredible people that keep making it alive
